The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading UK specialist engineering contractor. This role is pivotal in the delivery of high-value, technically complex infrastructure projects, ranging from major rail frameworks to large-scale reinforced concrete structures.
As a key member of the project controls team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development and management of project schedules, ensuring operational excellence and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain fully integrated, resource-loaded programmes using Primavera P6.
  • Lead progress monitoring, including Critical Path Analysis and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Ensure all programmes meet NEC3/4 contractual requirements, including the management of revised submissions and impact assessments.
  • Provide clear, data-driven reporting to senior stakeholders and client bodies.
  • Collaborate with site delivery teams to optimize sequencing and resource allocation.
Candidate Profile
  • Technical: Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Experience: Proven track record in a Senior Planning capacity within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering environment.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of civil engineering logic, specifically within rail, power, or heavy structures.
  • Communication: Highly analytical with the ability to communicate complex schedule data effectively.
