We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a forward thinking construction consultancy delivering major civils and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone who can produce accurate cost estimates, support tendering activity, and work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams. The role is hybrid in the Greater Manchester area, and pays between £60-80,000 + benefits, experience dependant. 

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for utilities, earthworks, drainage, structures and public realm works.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and BOQs, producing accurate take offs and first principles cost build ups.
  • Source supplier and subcontractor pricing and identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
  • Support tender submissions and work closely with planning, engineering, procurement and commercial teams.
  • Maintain cost databases, benchmarking data and market intelligence to strengthen future bids.

Skills & Experience
 
  • Background in estimating civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Proficient in take offs, pricing and digital estimating tools.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Desirable: Degree/HNC/HND in a construction discipline, and knowledge of NEC contracts and BIM/4D/5D workflows.
