This is a standout opportunity to make a genuine impact across both pre‑contract and live project environments, driving best practice and supporting the continued success of the Business Unit.

About The Role
As a Senior Planner, you’ll take the lead on planning activities across major projects or a portfolio of smaller schemes—from pre‑qualification right through to project handover. You’ll work closely with Planning Managers, Project Directors, Bid Centre teams, and fellow planners to ensure strong programme governance and deliver innovative, reliable planning solutions.
This is a highly collaborative role where your expertise will influence key decisions and support the growth of planning capability across the business.

About You

  • Significant construction planning experience, ideally with a main contractor
  • Advanced Asta Powerproject skills
  • Strong understanding of JCT contract mechanisms, including change management and EOT assessments
  • Proven experience planning tenders—supporting bid strategy, methodology, sequencing, and high‑quality tender programmes
  • Experience in schools, colleges, universities, or similarly complex multi‑stakeholder projects
  • A track record of mentoring junior team members and promoting continuous improvement
  • Exceptional analytical and reporting capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions, influence key decisions, and propose innovative planning solutions

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff & Management – Lead, coach and support planning staff
  • Governance – Ensure robust programme governance and compliance
  • Business Reporting – Deliver accurate and insightful programme reporting
  • Operational Delivery – Support planning on live projects to successful completion
  • Bidding – Produce high‑quality tender programmes and contribute to winning strategies

  • Travel covered to any company site (HMRC rates apply)
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension with 8% employer contribution
  • 26 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Industry‑leading family leave:
    • 26 weeks fully paid maternity
