Senior Planner – Infrastructure
Peterborough (Hybrid – initially 2 days on-site)

A leading project delivery consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planner to join their growing infrastructure team in Peterborough.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with a strong construction or infrastructure background to play a key role in delivering complex programmes. The position offers exposure to large-scale projects, with a particular focus on integrating environmental requirements into project schedules.
The Role As a Senior Planner, you will take ownership of programme development and control, ensuring schedules are robust, accurate, and aligned with project objectives. A key element of the role will involve embedding Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) activities into the overall programme and ensuring compliance with contractual frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Develop and maintain fully logic-linked, resource-loaded programmes
  • Integrate Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) activities into project timelines
  • Monitor statutory approvals and ensure environmental milestones are met
  • Manage programmes in line with NEC3/NEC4 contract requirements
  • Assess Compensation Events (CEs) and update programmes accordingly
  • Conduct critical path and schedule risk analysis
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to track progress and identify variances
  • Produce clear, actionable reports for stakeholders
About You
  • 5+ years’ experience in planning/scheduling within construction or infrastructure
  • Advanced user of Primavera P6
  • Strong understanding of Environmental Impact Assessments and associated dependencies
  • Working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
  • Experience interpreting complex schedule data and communicating insights effectively
  • Background with a main contractor or large infrastructure delivery environment is highly desirable
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
  • Proactive, digitally capable, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity in the Peterborough area
