Senior Planner – Water Infrastructure (Thames Region)

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading principal infrastructure contractor delivering major capital programmes across the Thames region.

In this role, you will take full ownership of complex project schedules, drive integrated delivery teams against the baseline, and mentor emerging planning talent across high-value civil and M&E infrastructure schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Management: Build and maintain comprehensive, resource-loaded project plans in Primavera P6 across the full project lifecycle.

  • Baseline & Schedule Integrity: Manage baseline tracking, critical path analysis, schedule health checks, and risk/opportunity profiling.

  • Contract Administration: Develop detailed NEC3/NEC4 compliant programmes, including compensation events, contractual delay analysis, and detailed claims programmes.

  • Collaborative Planning: Lead collaborative planning workshops with project managers, site delivery teams, and client stakeholders.

  • Supply Chain Integration: Review, challenge, and integrate subcontractor programmes into the master delivery schedule.

  • Team Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development to Planners and Graduate Planning Engineers across the region.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Interrogate engineering drawings and produce detailed programme narratives, progress dashboards, and reports for client submissions.

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record delivering infrastructure schemes within civil engineering, M&E, or water/utilities environments.

  • Expert proficiency in Primavera P6.

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contract management and programme requirements.

  • Solid experience in critical path management, schedule risk mitigation, and claims programming.

  • Confident communication skills with the ability to challenge deviations, lead workshops, and influence project stakeholders.
