Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong track record in major infrastructure and utilities? We are a leading independent global construction and property consultancy seeking a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Infrastructure & Energy team on a permanent basis.
This role offers exceptional work-life flexibility. While you will support high-profile, critical utility projects, there is no requirement for regular day-to-day client office or site attendance. Meetings take place on an ad-hoc basis in Bristol or the South, allowing for a highly autonomous, hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage risk, cost control, and supply chain relationships across the project lifecycle. Your day-to-day will include:
- Contract Administration: Managing major construction and engineering contracts under NEC3/4 (specifically Options A and C) and FIDIC forms of contract.
- Commercial Controls: Applying a deep understanding of the Schedule of Cost Components and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) to drive project value.
- Cost & Risk Management: Leading risk management procedures, developing cost analysis spreadsheets, and assisting with project estimating.
- Reporting & Document Control: Collating complex project data to prepare comprehensive commercial reports, while overseeing robust document control systems.
- Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining trusted, collaborative relationships across multiple diverse teams and supply chain partners quickly.
Essential Criteria
- Contractual Expertise: Hands-on experience and a deep working knowledge of NEC contracts is a must-have for this role.
- Employment Status: This is a permanent position only. Contract or interim candidates cannot be considered.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong procurement, cost modeling, and supply chain management skills.
- Sector Experience: Prior experience in the Utilities sector (e.g., Water, Gas) is highly preferable.
- Energy Knowledge: Experience or knowledge relating to Energy or Electricity Transmission Systems is a significant advantage.
