A consultancy is recruiting for a Project Controller to support the delivery of complex, high-value defence programmes within a highly regulated environment. The role is hybrid, with site-based work in the East Midlands and head office visits in Manchester, and pays up to £70,000 + benefits.

This role is critical to ensuring excellence across planning, cost control, risk management, change control, and performance reporting on mission-critical projects. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams, providing clear insight, governance, and control throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all project controls activities, including schedule, cost, risk, change, and performance management
  • Develop, maintain, and assure integrated project schedules aligned to regulated lifecycle and assurance frameworks
  • Produce cost forecasts, earned value analysis (EVM), and performance reports for senior leadership
  • Establish and maintain project controls standards, processes, and governance
  • Support project and engineering teams with risk, opportunity, and change management
  • Interface with engineering, commercial, safety, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and integrity

Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience in Project Controls on large, complex programmes
  • Strong expertise in planning, cost management, risk management, and earned value management (EVM)
  • Proven ability to operate within strict governance, assurance, and contractual frameworks
  • Proficiency in tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Power BI, and Excel
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance (or currently holding clearance)
