The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading global construction and property consultancy, supporting one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes.
Based in Euston, you will be part of a specialist cost assurance team carrying out cost verification audits and providing independent assurance across a complex, high-value infrastructure portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional with a strong Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management background who enjoys analysing contracts, identifying risks, and improving commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake cost assurance and compliance audits across major infrastructure projects.
- Review commercial processes, governance, and contract administration to ensure best practice.
- Assess procurement strategies, cost management procedures, and commercial controls.
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Produce detailed audit reports with clear recommendations and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure commercial compliance and continuous improvement.
- Review contractual documentation, change control, compensation events, and payment mechanisms.
- Support the development of commercial governance frameworks and assurance processes.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Senior Commercial Manager on major infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts (NEC3 and/or NEC4).
- Experience carrying out commercial assurance, audits, governance reviews, or commercial compliance activities is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial management principles, procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- MRICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
